John Cena Talks America

Out comes John Cena, who begins to talk about Rusev and The United States of America. Similar to what we have heard in the past, Cena does not care who cheers and boos him, but points to the flag and the importance of his Flag Match against Rusev. He holds the flag in the air and his music hits, but Rusev comes from behind and attacks. The Accolade is locked in and Rusev gets the better of the leader of Cenation. Also, Rusev waves his Bulgarian flag in the air and celebrates on stage.

There were two big things I liked about this. First, John Cena still cuts a great promo and who the hell would boo him in Birmingham, Alabama when he brings up the USA? He gets what he needs to do and say, how to deliver it and how to get people hyped for his match. Also, how great does Rusev look. He no longer looks like an 80’s villain with his hair and slightly out of shape body. He looks strong, athletic and in the best shape of his life. A few months off did wonders for him and you can tell he is thirsty to make an immediate impact on Smackdown Live. When thinking of who will win this match, always go with the USA.

Mike Kanellis’s Debut

I am not sure why they did this tonight, considering WWE Battleground is 5 days away. I wanted to see Mike vs. Sami on that card, not a meaningless match tonight. Maybe, they will get another round in a few weeks. I think Maria and Mike need to do more and do more quickly.  If not, they will be floating around where Tye Dillinger is at. A fun gimmick that has no direction.

Maria is gold, while Mike is going to get better and better. His outfit is great and his mannerisms are spot on for what they are trying to accomplish. Book him as an important piece, not like tonight where the importance simply was not there.
