Who Is Floating?
The Tag Team division on Smackdown Live has been consistent and next week will feature a Rap Battle. I think it is a good idea to give these two teams the mic and have them face off that way before Battleground. You can only do so many tag and singles matches before the fans really tune out and only care about the payoff match. I want to see more from The New Day because they have to stay funny and interesting to not feel useless.
How useless were The New Day after dropping the WWE Tag Team Championships? Without the titles, they were used to start WrestleMania and dance like Jeff Hardy. This feud and new show gives them hope that they can milk around six months of them as a team. After that, I am not sure where they go. Also, people always complain about the tag team divisions. They are not meant to main event or carry shows. I would love that, but I am a realist. Aside from successful stables like DX or NWO, is there really a dire need to have tag teams or groups headline shows? They are that delicious side dish to prime rib. You will remember it, but will always rely on the big names and food to fill your needs up.
Also, The Fashion Police remain something I want to see every week. They just continue to be unique and different.
Styles, Sami, Corbin and Owens
These guys can fight forever and I would be alright with it. All four men, including a Mr. Money in the Bank, continue to be very consistent with minimal storyline develoment. They usually are just hanging around the mediocre parts of the show. Smackdown Live is letting these guys wrestle and wrestle often, which I am okay with. There needs to be more importance on them over the other divisions on Smackdown Live. They need to book conflict and struggle, not a match every week where they swap wins. Establish your guys and roll with them.
There should never be a show where we do not see Styles, Owens or Nakamura in the ring. Ever. We saw that Tuesday night and was something that frustrated me. There are two hours in this show and very little was dedicated to their three biggest stars.
