Triple Threat Match
Let’s quickly get this out of the way. WWE is strongly pushing the Intercontinental and United States Championships. After years of complaining, they are finally making a stride in putting important people in the storylines to push these titles’ level of importance. They need Brock back soon or have someone else take the Universal Championship, that is a given. Let’s enjoy this while we can.
Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and The Miz put on one hell of a main event on WWE RAW. From the dives to the outside, to the multiple kicking combination in the ring and capping it off with a dirty win from the best heel in the business, this was memorable. A WWE RAW with no Brock, Roman or Braun did not seem to be too bad tonight. They let their depth show tonight and there was not many holes in a three hour program. Three hours will always be frustrating and I get frustrated more than most.
Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt, I have already discussed. Do I love the idea of The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose…AGAIN? No, but Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe still have unfinished business. The way WWE Payback ended with Rollins and Joe, you want to see another confrontation. I do think that the Intercontinental Championship may see Rollins and Joe enter the fray. I would not mind both of those feuds intertwining and a few guys getting a crack at Dean Ambrose. I am always a fan of having a few feuds work together to elevate a select few. These guys could pull it off.
At the end of the night, we did not completely miss the big names. We got a chance to see the talent that they have after the main event of WWE Payback. I think it needs to be said that Braun Strowman should be your next Universal Champion. Market him and his ability in the main event, while catering to the wrestling purists outside of the Universal Championship.
WWE Extreme Rules is in a Month. I smell some good stipulation matches, but they MUST determine a Number 1 Contender on that night.
