Isenberg Reacts: WWE Payback “Braun Strowman Soars Past Roman Reigns”

WWE Made The Right Call

The main event showed Roman Reigns try to survive The Monster Among Men. Braun Strowman has lost 5 straight PPV matches, even though two of them were the Battle Royal and The Royal Rumble match. He needed a win and needed it badly. With Roman Reigns coming in at less than 100 percent, you had that feeling that Super-Roman would win and move onto a championship opportunity. WWE Payback was more about the big win from Strowman. He destroyed him for a while, let Roman Reigns hit a few Superman Punches and Spears, and then came back with a submission hold. If Braun lost tonight, his destruction from the previous few weeks would be for naught.

It is as simple as this: Roman Reigns did not NEED to win. Braun Strowman needed to win. Plain and simple. Thank you, WWE, for doing what needed to be done in the main event.
