A Heel Turn Much Needed
Matt and Jeff Hardy are at the top of their game. To get great matches, you must give us a great team to counter with. Sheamus and Cesaro have all the talent in the world and together could be a stellar unit. The fine line they have walked from heel and face is over, as they would attack the champions after suffering a loss in what I thought was one of the better tag team matches in recent memory. It was everything you needed. They gave us Cesaro and Sheamus’ strength combined with Matt and Jeff’s agility and precision.
There should not be a title change for a few months. I want to see Sheamus and Cesaro act dirty. Let them target some faces and try to take them out. They looked great tonight and can really build up to a more important championship win. They snapped The New Day’s streak, so next up would be ruining the return of The Hardy Boyz. THAT will get them the heat they need, but not in a few weeks. Let it brew and let them really invest in becoming heels. No more jokes or segments in a pub. Focus on an old school mentality for these guys. They are too good to screw with.
Alexa Bliss and Bayley
The hometown girl suffered a loss to the newest addition to the WWE RAW roster. Bayley drops the title in a really good match with Alexa Bliss. The pacing of the match was excellent, with multiple two counts and counters. Another smart booking decision is when Bayley’s head was the target of the match. They really made sure that story was told, with her hitting the rope and the post before Bliss connected with a DDT for the win.
Bayley’s best match since becoming champion was tonight. She hit an excellent running knee and an elbow drop. These two moves looked perfect and helped her look more intense and aggressive. We saw emotion and real aggression from Bayley, something we have not seen since her call up to RAW. With her losing tonight, we should see more of that. WWE RAW is now Alexa Bliss’s. It is the right decision, right now.
