United Kingdom Championship Match
The United Kingdom Championship is defended for the second time on WWE NXT. Gentlemen Jack Gallagher gets a shot, even though he is a member of the 205 Live and Cruiserweight Division. Like I suggested months ago, the United Kingdom Championship should be a common addition to the show, giving them more options for character development and depth in the mid card. It is a one hour show on the WWE Network, so you have to be careful. You have Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, Wolfgang, Mark Andrews, Pete Dunne, potentially Jack Gallagher and other foreign guys on the roster that can fit the bill. Let this be the new “Intercontinental Championship” or “United States Championship” on NXT. It makes too much sense, for the crowd adaptation and for the young crop of talent to constantly get more of a worldwide spotlight.
Tonight’s match was great, smooth and physical enough to remind us why Tyler Bate is the champion. He is extremely young, but works like a 10 year professional in the ring. We know what Jack Gallagher brings to the table. He was the only Cruiserweight in the Royal Rumble. THAT says something about his marketing ability and what the company thinks about him. NXT did not have a match with Bobby Roode and it did not really matter.
