Cesaro vs. Jeff Hardy
A really good singles contest between Jeff Hardy and Cesaro took place on WWE RAW. Showcasing his value, Jeff Hardy still shows that he can sell better than anyone and is a really good performer in multiple ways. He is speedy, athletic and still uses his lower body as a weapon. I really enjoy Jeff Hardy in the ring and Cesaro was a great opponent for him. Cesaro is going to bring out good in anyone he faces. It showed tonight, but I was very surprised that WWE gave Jeff the win. I thought it was the right thing to do, in booking terms, but just expected them to hand the challengers the victory.
Next week, give me Sheamus vs. Matt Hardy and I will be a happy camper. Both men are more physical and able to work a completely different type of match. I look forward to their tag team match at WWE Payback and think this is the best feud, right now, for a championship. It is new vs. old, respect vs. respect. Not too much and not too little, WWE is booking this logically and with importance.
Braun Strowman is WWE RAW
Big Show vs. Braun Strowman ended in a way that most people felt like it could. The ring collapsed, which I believe is the third time this has happened with The Big Show. Brock vs. Show and Mark Henry vs. Show. This was the best, thanks in large part to Jon Cone and his falling out of the ring and selling this like a damn earthquake hit. Braun gets back up and another week goes by where we see the Monster Among Men own the night.
He has to beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship, right? I actually think WWE can carry this into SummerSlam. With WWE Payback featuring a lot of singles bouts, there is not a need to find out who the number one contender will be that night. You will see Roman vs. Braun, Seth vs. Joe, Owens vs. Jericho. Those are more than enough to wet the pallet for the fans. Moving forward, WWE Extreme Rules and WWE Bad Blood are two more PPV events that RAW has before SummerSlam. I can see them using one of those to find out who the next challenger to Brock Lesnar will be and it has to be Strowman.
The fans love him because he is unique, strong and bucking the trend from previous “big men.” They continue to push him and make him the beginning and end of RAW. If they do not capitalize on him beating Brock Lesnar, what is this all for? Also, kudos to The Big Show for continuing to impress at an extended age. His value is great for moments like this.
