RAW Women’s Championship
The RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 33 was solid booking, getting the monster heel in Nia Jax out early from the other three. Charlotte, Sasha and Nia were able to work together for 8-9 minutes after Jax was eliminated and the win from Bayley was very surprising to me. They missed out on her getting a huge championship win at WrestleMania and gave it to her too soon. With that being said, this would have been perfect for Charlotte to get her title back in the same arena her father ended his career at.
I did like the actual match, the actual build and developments in the ring during it. We saw the great spots from Charlotte, the technicality of Sasha and Bayley dropping an elbow to retain her Women’s Championship. It is hard to top last year’s championship match and they did not come close.
A Proposal For Cena
This was exactly what it needed to be. The match was not supposed to be a technical showcase of either individual. When WWE knows they can capitalize on mainstream media with their brightest star on the brightest stage, they will do it. A quick match of nine minutes saw Nikki and John Cena hit their finishers on The Miz and Maryse before John Cena got down on one knee.
In all honesty, I loved The Miz pandering to the live WrestleMania 33 crowd during the match. He gets how to work everyone over and John Cena is a guy that he can thank that for. When you look back at highlights from WrestleMania 33, more people will remember this over half of the card. Take it or leave it.
