Exposing Total Bellas

John Cena and Fandango competed in a quick squash match. That was not nearly the most important part of tonight. Instead, The Miz and Maryse mocked Total Bellas, with both dressing as their counterpart. They teased an engagement multiple times, with The Miz playing John Cena so perfectly and Maryse killing the role of Nikki. This was thinking outside of the box and very entertaining. It crossed multiple media outlets and made for something more enjoyable than the usual MizTV.

When you look at this feud, you see how important John Cena is to the WWE brand. Outside of the ring, he is a star. Miz wants to be that star, but isn’t. The dynamics of both characters are so intriguing and it only helps that there was real life beef and tension with their female partners. I thoroughly enjoyed WWE trying to make a joke out of something most fans would. They are connected and know that this would have gone over well, even if The Miz was being cheered by a crowd at the Mohegan Sun.

Claiming Her Place

An all out brawl between the women competitors for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship went down on Smackdown Live. Alexa would stand tall after Becky, Carmella, Natalya and Mickie James all hit their signature moves. Alexa Bliss proves, once again, why she is at the top of the mountain on Tuesday nights. She is the most natural heel on Smackdown Live and can easily say that her in-ring ability is very solid. This match is intriguing to me because I am not sure what to expect. The RAW Women’s Championship match might be more technical and predictable, but this one is open for many things to happen. Who walks out as champion? How is the match is structured? Who will return? So many questions and so many possibilities.
