The Phenomenal One Attacks
Here is what happened with AJ Styles, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan throughout the night.
- AJ Styles came out to complain about not having a match at WrestleMania
- AJ Styles is backstage in the parking lot, waiting for Shane. When Shane pulls up, he attacks him around the garage and throws his head into the window.
- Daniel Bryan “fires” AJ Styles
- Shane McMahon gets medical attention
- Shane McMahon comes out with 20 seconds left of Smackdown Live and tells us that AJ Styles now has an opponent at WrestleMania
Okay, I actually really enjoyed the development throughout the night. The attack was physical and came off real. AJ Styles carried a rather boring and uninteresting show, but the “firing” of AJ Styles was stupid. I did not like it and thought it was too simplistic. Nobody believes he is missing WrestleMania 33 and Smackdown Live should have not even had that said from Bryan. Other than that, you saw AJ dominate the night and a battered Shane McMahon lay down the gauntlet. You can have both men show up next week to ink the contract and that is that.
The McMahon Family does not fight “anybodies” at WrestleMania. Even though I understand why people complain about AJ Styles not being in a championship match, he is facing a MCMAHON. Relax and have faith that Styles and Shane will put on a memorable match. AJ Styles is the best this company has and can do/fight anyone. He has proven that in the year he has been in WWE.
