The Obvious Isn’t Always Bad
WWE RAW featured two Cruiserweight segments, but only one had actual importance behind it. The WWE RAW debut of Austin Aries was simple, yet effective. He picked up a victory over Daivari, who should be known as the “jobber to the future champions.” The guy can go, but Austin Aries is on the Neville level. Both men are so far advanced beyond their counterparts that WWE knows this is the only logical, sensible and obvious answer for WrestleMania.
205 Live will air tonight and we will see Austin Aries pick up a win in a Fatal Five Way. It is very obvious, but it is the right thing to do at the right time. This division got a shot of energy from Neville, Aries and Gallagher. With Gallagher out of the picture for the time being, Austin Aries can carry the feud on the mic while Neville’s dastardly character can carry it in the ring. It just works. Lastly, I like how 205 Live has this match. WWE RAW can have these two feud for the next two weeks, but the depth and details should be on their own show to make it more specific and important on Tuesday nights.
When The Gong Hits
When the gong hits, Roman Reigns gets scared. After a beatdown by Jinder “Hard Body” Mahal, Roman Reigns hits a few Superman Punches and ends Mahal’s night. Roman’s night was just getting started, as HBK comes out to talk to Roman Reigns. Michaels talks about how The Undertaker is going to eat him alive, while Roman does not want to hear about it. Roman Reigns says that Undertaker retired HBK and Roman will be the one to retire The Undertaker.
A nice surprise of Shawn Michaels to help, but it seems like he is ALWAYS the one to talk for The Undertaker and warns everyone. I enjoyed the segment, even though we saw it with Triple H, Brock Lesnar and others. I just want to see Roman turn full heel mode here and that could have been done if he Speared Shawn Michaels. That is a missed opportunity with WWE in making sure they get the crowd behind this matchup. There are still some doubters, which I find amusing. Reigns CAN WORK.
Also, Braun attacking Roman Reigns means what? Does he get added next week? How do you leave Braun OUT of WrestleMania at this point?
