Isenberg Reacts: WWE Fastlane “Did WWE Bury The Future of WWE RAW?”

As Much as I Hate It, I Get It

Roman Reigns beating Braun Strowman, clean, was the biggest surprise for many fans. I get it. Roman vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania. You need to have Roman beat someone NOBODY has beaten. Roman and Undertaker both lost in WrestleMania matches involving Brock Lesnar. So, the similarities can be drawn from that match and from last night. Roman Reigns gets more reaction than anyone on WWE RAW. It makes no difference if he gets booed or cheered. The reaction he gets is natural and full of emotion. With that, WWE knows they need to push him and make him a focal point of any match.

With all of that being said, how great would it have been if The Undertaker interrupted Roman Reigns and cost him the match? If would keep Braun without a pinfall of submission loss and only create more intrigue. With Braun on a hot streak, I would have loved to see him vs. Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker. With The Undertaker’s health in question, again, this could be a great way of protecting him and giving him TWO BIG obstacles to overcome.

If they really did not want to do that, I would have had The Undertaker come out after the match. He makes his statement and then lays the challenge down on WWE RAW. With 4 weeks remaining, everyone needs to be spotlighted as much as humanly possible. Not having The Undertaker appear during or after the match was a big mistake in my mind. Thankfully, the match was actually the best one of the night. Too bad the result was not.

My issues were that Braun lost clean after months of domination, Kevin Owens’ championship reign seems less credible and important, Charlotte’s streak was broken on a Pay-Per-View called WWE Fastlane, and Rusev lost to The Big Show. Some good matches did take place, but the negatives outweighed the positives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Let’s look at the projected WrestleMania 33 card from the WWE RAW side.

  • Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship
  • Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho (all but confirmed)
  • Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker (rumored)
  • Charlotte vs. Nia Jax vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley for the RAW Women’s Championship (rumored)
  • WWE Tag Team Championship Match (Predicted Kickoff Show)
  • Neville vs ? (Predicted Kickoff Show)

The question marks remain around Braun Strowman, Rusev, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Triple H and others. Hopefully, many of these questions will clear up on WWE RAW tonight in Chicago.
