A Streak Snapped
Another questionable booking decision was WWE having Charlotte lose clean to Bayley. Yes, Sasha Banks came out for a brief distraction, but Charlotte was pinned. The match itself was really solid, but Charlotte was 16-0. Why in the blue hell would you NOT want that streak to be carried over until WrestleMania 33? Even a disqualification or count out would have been perfectly fine for me. Instead of Charlotte competing to get her title back AND keeping a streak of 17-0 alive, she is just going to be focusing on the title. This was not a smart decision and very perplexing to me.
Bayley is good, but Charlotte and Sasha are great. Nia Jax is powerful and she should NEVER lose via submission or roll-up. She lost by Sasha rolling her up and completely frustrated myself and the WWE Universe. What is the point of her losing? Does Sasha, weighing in at 100 pounds, really need to defeat someone almost three times her size? Surprising and a lack of logical booking. Let Nia win, Sasha help Bayley, Charlotte get angry and then all four women battle it out at WrestleMania for the RAW Women’s Championship. Instead of multiple reasons this match could be interesting in four weeks, we only have one.
The rating below is also taking the solid contest in the ring under consideration, not necessarily all focused around the booking decision.
Fun Fact: Charlotte’s title reigns (4) averaged only 61.5 days. Sasha Bank’s title reigns (3) averaged 25 days.
