Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “Why Dolph and Baron Could Be The Future on Tuesday Nights”

When Will Renee Strike Again?

An Ambrose Asylum took place to kick off Smackdown Live. Dean Ambrose introduced The Miz and Maryse. They talked about the controversial call last week, which prompted Dean Ambrose to give The Miz a participation award. This enrages the former champion, so he attacks Dean. He wants Maryse to slap him, but Ambrose ducks and she strikes her husband. A Dirty Deeds onto Miz ends his night and Ambrose stands tall.

I wonder when they are going to have Renee Young in full force here. I am not sure it is the right answer, but it has to happen sometime. If not, what would be the point of having her name brought up on a weekly basis. There can be a fine line between her backstage duties and involvement in a storyline. Tonight was a good reminder of how good The Miz is and how Dean Ambrose is situated in a perfect spot on Smackdown right now.

I do think they should get one more match for the title, but not until after the Royal Rumble. Hell, maybe they will have both men pull double duty and work a match before the rumble match. It has been done many times before.

A solid outing from Baron Corbin tonight, who was able to keep pace and control most of the offense in tonight’s contest against John Cena. I am really enjoying the full package and development from Corbin, from his entrance music and attitude out of the ring to his intensity and arrogant ways inside of the ring. He is getting a great rub working with one of the best ever and it is only going to help him improve faster than most. He did not need to win, even though I would have liked to see him pick up the victory. John cannot lose clean when facing AJ Styles in a few weeks at the Royal Rumble. A dirty win would not have been a bad idea, letting Corbin brag and use his new era attitude continue. Either way, think of the positives of Smackdown instead of just being lazy and talking about “Super Cena.”
