Triple Threat Is The Right Call
The beginning of Smackdown Live was STELLAR. This was some of the best interactions John Cena, AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose have had in quite some time in general. Cena calls out Ambrose, while Ambrose returns the favor. It is all stirred up by the new champion, AJ Styles. The back and forth, the pacing and the escalation of intensity was the perfect way to get everyone hooked from the very beginning of the show.
The Miz was the partner of AJ Styles as he attacks a jobber before the match. As you would expect, The Miz took the loss when John Cena hits an Attitude Adjustment. After the match, Dean Ambrose hit Cena with Dirty Deeds and showed a flash of his heel persona.
When you have an underachieving talent like Dean Ambrose, you need to try and see what else he can do. Did he completely save himself tonight? No, but I do think it was MILES better than what we have seen. This is who he should have been for months. I give him credit, but it worked because of who John Cena is. It worked because of his back against the wall and being a desperate man. Will it mean Dean becomes champion again? No. I do not think AJ Styles should drop the title for at least into 2017. He is the face that runs the place and the most talented guy on the roster. He continues to show it.
