Chris Jericho Targets Sami Zayn
The Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho features Sami Zayn. Immediately, Jericho talks about why Zayn is no longer friends with Kevin Owens and calls him rude and condescending. Zayn talks about how much he looked up to Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero when he was younger. He calls Jericho Owens’ b*tch. Chris Jericho says that he was warned about what Sami was going to say, hits him in the face with his cell phone and drops Zayn with the Codebreaker. Chris Jericho stands tall for everyone to drink in.
When Chris Jericho first started this return, I was skeptical. Boy, was I wrong! He is absolutely killing it on a weekly basis, no matter who he is with. He has found his humor from The Attitude Era while continuing to evolve into such a funny, yet cowardly heel. Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn could steal the show at Clash of the Champions. If I was WWE, I would make it more important by adding a “Number One Contender” match to face Kevin Owens. You have his new best friend and then his former best friend. I really do think that this would make more eyes on what would end up being a great match with no future implications involved. Either way, you have to love the stuff Chris Jericho is doing right now while Sami Zayn continues to get the crowd behind him albeit a mediocre character. Talent usually wins, though.
A Victory For The Club
Yes, I am still calling Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows The Club. Another championship match will be the inevitable ending of The New Day and their yearlong championship reigns, right? I think it has to, but the way they have been booking it leads me to believe I will be let down. RAW tonight had the heels overtake the momentum with one week to go. They defeated The New Day with Xavier Woods taking the loss. I am happy to see more physicality in the ring and more time to work. When you have talented wrestlers on your roster, you should LET THEM WRESTLE.
If Anderson and Gallows do NOT win in less than two weeks, what next? Another loss means that WWE is so concerned with one tag team where they should be concerned with three of their talented teams behind them. I really hope the wave of momentum is not a precursor to the expected. Give RAW and their new talent an opportunity to carry it. It seems to be working out well with Smackdown Live, right? Good work tonight overall from these teams. It was kept simple and within their means.
