The Uso’s defeated The Club
Another great tag team match from Gallows/Anderson and The Uso’s. The underlying story is obviously that all four men are going to be somewhat involved in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Extreme Rules. With the feud becoming steady and consistent, WWE should NOT have Gallows and Anderson lose clean. It is not smart booking to have these guys lose clean to a team that has been around for many years and thriving on the main roster. Not much can harm The Uso’s, but losses like this could ultimately make a new tag team look like every other team.
AJ Styles got the upper hand after getting attacked with a chair from Roman Reigns. A Styles Clash on the chair looked solid and really brought out an anger from Styles that has not been tapped yet. They had one hell of a match at Payback that lasted over 25 minutes and gave us plenty of drama. Expect an even better contest with more back story, more family involvement and more potential unpredictable endings. This was the best ending for them to head into a main event. Develop more than one guy at a time.
Are You Buying Charlotte and Natalya?
I was skeptical at first, but they have really emphasized the fact that Nattie should be a legit threat to Charlotte. Eliminating Ric is completely necessary, giving the spotlight on the women. I find it funny that Ric is booked more like a drunk father over a WWE Hall of Famer.
What WWE did tonight was end the show with the women, something that is not familiar to many people. Was it the right call? Given that I doubt Charlotte drops the title, no it was not. I want WWE to put big focus on the women without forcing it down our throats. I just cannot buy the fact that WWE is pushing Natalya so much right now when Sasha, Becky and others are on the side watching it. WHY? Why is this happening after an incredibly successful Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania?
Credit to the women for making it interesting, but maybe they only have half of the pieces in place.
