The New Day Travel in Time
The New Day come out and talk about The Vaudevillians. There is a huge “time machine” box in the ring and they all get into the box. Kofi Kingston comes out with his SOS and Jamaican gimmick, but Woods says they did not go back in time enough. They come out with moustaches and mocking their opponents for Extreme Rules. Gotch and English appear and attack them from behind, hitting a few tag team moves to lay out the champions.
This match has me very interested in seeing how it is booked. There are a few ways to go about it. WWE can give the titles to The Vaudevillians and really push them as potentially the only heel team in the WWE that is relevant. They could have a DQ finish, with Enzo returning and seeking retribution to the two men that put him on the shelf. Lastly, you can have Enzo and Cass come out and distract English or Gotch. This can give The New Day enough time to steal a win after a solid performance by the challengers. All three are solid choices and I am excited to see what happens on Sunday. The Tag Team division is fruitful right now.
Not Much Sense For Rusev
Rusev comes out and watches his former partner, Alberto Del Rio, take on Kalisto. Rusev distracts Kalisto by attacking Sin Cara and Del Rio picks up the victory. Rusev stands tall, but I am confused.
Why is Alberto Del Rio a pawn in this game for someone who he brawled with a few weeks ago and split from? Wouldn’t there be a little bit of hate in each of them, to the point of them caring less about helping the other one out? I don’t think WWE has any creative angle right now to build Kalisto into a credible champion and that is a damn shame. I put my money on Rusev cruising and becoming champion again, in perfect time for some returning big names to potentially step in and face the Bulgarian Brute.
