- Ric Flair
Ric “Nature Boy” Flair, was a multifaceted wrestler who excelled in all the qualities that the best of the best should possess. He was a wizard with the mic; once he started talking, he could work the crowd like no other. Flair’s rants were epic, almost insane at times.
In the ring he had even more flair (hah). Holding more than sixteen world championship titles speaks enough about his prowess. Flair could make any opponent a star, and whoever won a championship in his era meant they were the hardest working wrestlers at the moment.
Ric Flair had a short run in the WWF, even winning the championship, although he never got to have that feud against Hulk Hogan that everyone was hoping for. Ric, however, nabbed the championship at Royal Rumble. With his occasional appearances for WWE, Ric Flair proved his timeless nature that qualifies him for the title of one of the best pro wrestlers of all time.
- Hulk Hogan
While Hogan has grown into a bit of controversial figure nowadays, when it comes to pure wrestling business, you can’t leave out one of the greatest. Basically, he is one of the guys responsible for WWE’s stunning success.
Simply put, McMahon needed a superstar, a superhero, someone able to provide that boost which would take the company to a higher level. And Hogan filled that role perfectly. He was the ultimate babyface, selling out arenas and blowing up the merchandise stands.
Then Hogan did something great to ensure his inclusion in all the top lists of the best wrestlers. He turned heel and soared to even greater fame, doing the unthinkable. Not only did Hogan become one of the greatest, but wrestling returned to the mainstream.
- Stone Cold Steve Austin
Every guy on this list could’ve been declared the best pro wrestler of all time. But if there was ever a wrestler to deserve this number one spot, then it’s Steve.
Vince McMahon desperately tried to put someone in Hulk Hogan’s spot, but a new wrestling mega-star was nowhere on the horizon. That is, until Stunning Steve Austin got the mic after his King of the Ring victory and stated “Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your ass”.

Slowly but surely, Austin became one of the best wrestlers, helping carry the torch of the Attitude Era. Of course, many over the top wrestlers were born in that era, but eventually it was all about what Austin could provide. While Hogan turned wrestling into a global phenomenon, Austin took wrestling to the next level, which was no small feat!
