Ryback Wins Again
Speaking of natural heels, Ryback and Sin Cara did battle on Raw tonight. Say what you want, but Ryback is a good performer. No, he is never going to get the respect he deserves. I do think that this match is awful though for both men. Kalisto and Ryback are at two separate ends of the spectrum.
Like I have been beckoning all along, I think a multi-man match would be the way to go for the US Title. Does WWE really think fans are going to care at ALL about this match? It is a shame, but it’s the truth. There is just no real connection of storyline/talent with these two. Seemingly out of nowhere, Ryback and Kalisto are feuding. It just does not have the ingredients to please a crowd of 100,000 people. I like both men, but not paired together right now.
Sami Zayn Has The Appeal
I am not sure why, but Sami Zayn has this appeal to the crowd, similar to Bayley or Daniel Bryan. Not on their level, yet, but Zayn’s appeal is more organic and natural. He has the ability to be himself and it comes off great. With his skill set in the ring and his ability to cut a really good promo, Sami Zayn will be successful in the WWE for quite some time. While his match with The Miz was decent, it is more about the next few weeks leading into WrestleMania for him.
With him vs. Kevin Owens and potentially others at WrestleMania, it could really give Owens the opportunity to overcome the odds and establish his championship reign. With him being champion a few times already, there needs to be longevity in his character as champion. Will this happen? Potentially, but putting over faces against Owens such as Dolph, Sami and other will help WWE separate him from other heels and potentially produce some compelling feuds for the Intercontinental Championship.
