Brie Bella Speaks
Brie Bella starts talking with Byron Saxton and is asked how Daniel Bryan is doing. She says that it was hard for him and he was able to turn a bad situation into a positive. She is immediately interrupted by Charlotte. She comes out and says she was blown away by his retirement speech last week. Charlotte says that you have to live every day like it is your last and the crowd is getting behind both women. She will understand if she needs to forfeit at WWE Fastlane. She says most women will want to be at home with her husband, She says who is she to judge her marriage and Brie does not owe her any explanation. Charlotte says Brie and Daniel need the money, which is why she is here. She tells her to go home and take care of her family.
This was a great way for WWE to really put Brie over and make Charlotte look like a dastardly heel. Charlotte is really good at upsetting the crowd and making them boo her. She is growing into her own as a heel because they are giving fuel to the fire that is real. Brie got some kicks in and the crowd is definitely behind Brie. Charlotte is so damn good as a heel right now, she really is. How she says things and how the crowd reacts to her is natural.
AJ Styles vs. The Miz
The Miz kicks Styles in the face and then hits a big knee and a kick to his face. Miz locks in a submission hold and Styles hits some chops to the chest. He rolls up Miz for a two count. The Miz gets rolled into a backslide and then gets hit face first. A kick and a punch, but Styles spills to the outside. The Miz hits a baseball slide and Styles hits a flying elbow off the steps to take control. Styles hits a knee to the gut and then rolls him up for two. A Pele Kick gets him a two count and then he heads to the top. The Miz gets tripped up from the top and then hits a flying elbow on the chin for two. Styles kicks out of a Skull Crushing Finale
AJ pairs up so well with a guy like The Miz. Splash moves and the basic transitional moves from Miz and Styles kept the pacing of the match. I loved the reversal from Styles to lock in the Calf Crusher. It was so smooth and AJ Styles picks up another win. The third and final match with Chris Jericho is taking place at WWE Fastlane. A smart booking decision for a really intriguing match with both guys. Jericho as a heel can really get the most out of any face in the company, including AJ Styles. Once again, we underestimate how good The Miz is as a traditional heel.
