The New Day Pay Their Respects
The New Day pay their respects to Francesca, their trombone. In a funny bit, they transition this to a match between Jey Uso and Big E. Big E hits a big back body drop to the outside and says that was for Francesca (hilarious). With Big E in control, Jey Uso takes a while to get any sort of offense in. Big E gets thrown right into the barricade and both men get back. Jey goes up top and hits a big splash and then a kick. He connects with a Samoan drop and then he flies to the outside. Jey takes out Big E and is rolling. A big kick and Jey goes up top, but Xavier distracts him and Big E finishes him off with the Big Ending.
This was a really good match with shenanigans on the outside to slightly give the advantage to Big E. I would have kept the tag team title match for another night, especially with three other championship matches taking place before the Royal Rumble match. Nonetheless, a really good match with high flying moves and a finish typical of a heel group.
Heels and Faces Galore
Breeze, The Ascension and Stardust face off against Titus O’Neil, Mark Henry, R-Truth and Neville. Like you would expect, it was just a cluster of a few moves from each guy getting prepared for the Royal Rumble match. Nothing much to note here and was a quick filler before we get to see Brock Lesnar.
