Who Enters Number One?
Stephanie McMahon and Mr. McMahon come out to pick the number one entrant. Stephanie McMahon runs down some names and fans cheer and boo some. They talk about Vince being a truly human specimen. The first entrant is revealed and that man is Roman Reigns. They spin it up once again and the name pulled is Roman Reigns. A third time and Reigns gets number 1.
Obviously, if WWE did not make Roman Reigns number one, it would not make much sense. Man, I love Vince and all, but that was absolutely meaningless. They could have done that backstage and picked his name once. What was the point of doing it over and over and over again? Rough stretch of Raw here…
Becky Lynch vs. Tamina
Becky Lynch starts with a dropkick and a few more to try and chop down the bigger Tamina. Tamina drives her into the corner and hits a big kick. Tamina applies a headlock and Becky fights out of it with some chops. She gets thrown back to the mat. Becky fights back and unloads forearms and then a high kick. She hits a running elbow, a kick and then another dropkick. Becky hits some leg drops and then gets a one count. Becky heads up top, rolling the disarmer and picks up the win.
I actually think the match was pretty decent. The realistic angle of the much stronger and bigger Tamina makes the underdog story of Becky feel natural. Of course we know Tamina was not going to win, but it showed resilience of Becky and her fighting attitude. Her explosiveness at the end made her get the crowd move interested before it was too late. She cuts a promo and asks Charlotte for an answer. She cuts a nice promo on Ric and makes fun of his catchphrase. She calls him out and calls him and Charlotte a coward. Ric Flair gives Becky Lynch the title match and Charlotte did not look too happy. Good stuff.
