Bo Dallas vs. R-Truth
To lead us into the second hour, Bo Dallas and R-Truth do battle. During the match, Stephanie McMahon is seen backstage and her father steps out of the limo. You see Bo Dallas and R-Truth in the ring and looking at the screen. Vince says Stephanie should go back to Connecticut and take care of her husband. His music hits and the match is abruptly ended…. thank God.
Vince McMahon Is Here
Vince McMahon says there is someone backstage and he is sweating. He says he is wondering how he feels that he is going to stand in front of God Almighty. He says Roman will sweat a little bit more and a commercial break occurs. He steps back into the ring and calls out Roman Reigns. He talks about his son hurting in Connecticut and says before he makes up his mind, he tells him to apologize. Roman Reigns shakes his head and does not apologize.
He tells Roman to get on his knees and apologize and Vince says he would beat an apology out of people. Out comes Sheamus to stop Vince from trying to fight Roman Reigns. Sheamus says he can beat Roman anytime. Vince says there is no chance in hell. Roman takes the microphone and asks Vince “why not old man?” He says Vince has old prunes instead of grapefruits. He says he is 70 and time has passed him by. Vince calls him a son of a bitch and Vince gives him his match. He kicks Roman below the belt and walks away.
Everything feels so important when Vince McMahon is around. I was not sure why they did not wait until the ending, but I do think the first hour did SO MUCH for everyone involved. Vince made this feel like a big moment and his appearance makes the night more important. A huge main event for tonight and if Roman loses, he gets fired. What an impact! The first hour and ten minutes of Raw made the night IMPORTANT. Honestly, this did more for an episode of Raw than a lot in the past two months. Did anyone walk away and say “I could care less about tonight?”
