Alberto Del Rio Dumps Zeb Colter
The WWE United States Championship match on Sunday is a Chairs Match. Jack Swagger comes out of obscurity to take on Del Rio. Zeb Colter, after Swagger defeats Stardust and confronts Del Rio, rides away in his scooter to the crowd’s delight. Backstage, Del Rio says that he does not need Zeb anymore, ending MexAmerica.
AMEN! This stunk. Zeb and Alberto had absolutely no chemistry together and really did not make much sense. I point this out: John Cena as US Champion faced guys like Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins.
Del Rio faces guys like R-Truth and Jack Swagger. The title went from extremely important to extremely irrelevant in a matter of two weeks. Why? Also, another good but predictable outcome on Sunday. Jack Swagger as US Champion? No chance in hell.
Who Do I Cheer For?
MizTV featured Divas Champion Charlotte and her father, Ric Flair. Miz asks the tough questions about her actions against Becky Lynch and even Paige. Charlotte gets upset that he keeps asking about her attitude change, also known as a heel turn by the fans, and Ric gets in his face. Miz brings out Paige, who talks about Charlotte and her father. She wants to fight Charlotte, but Ric says not tonight. Ric gets slapped in the face and Ric tells his daughter to attack. She gets her hands on Paige briefly and then Paige escapes.
Okay, who do I cheer for here? You have Paige talk about Reid Flair three weeks ago and then now play the face by spotlighting the changes in Charlotte’s character? Isn’t Charlotte supposed to be the reason why Paige turned her back? Because she became champion and cried to the crowd like a face?
I am so confused here, as is WWE. You can tell they WANT Charlotte to be a face, but the crowd is already turned towards her being a heel. She needs to be a heel. A 5’11 chick that is ripped like her should never be the face, never be the underdog. The storyline progressed, which is something that rarely happens on MizTV. That was a positive sign, but who do I cheer for?
