That night, The Rock went from one of the most popular stars in to a very successful heel character. Dean is in a similar position. He’s never been champion and he would suit being a heel character. Nobody would expect Dean to join the Authority but it could be an interesting swerve to put in to play.
Dean can already argue that Seth and Roman have had the far better chances than him and play off that he is the best of the three. This could also lead in to an immediate rivalry with Reigns and also give someone for Rollins to chase when he returns from injury.
This whole situation also makes tonight’s RAW a lot more interesting. With Orton, Cena and now Rollins out of action; what will WWE do to create interest moving in to this tournament. Undertaker is scheduled to be at the Smackdown tapings tomorrow night but will WWE plan to do something with him on RAW? Who knows?
There are many options on the table here and although it’s a terrible and unfortunate situation for Seth, in the short term it does create some intrigue in to what WWE will do moving forwards.
