Team Reigns vs. Team Rollins
Teasing Survivor Series, Roman Reigns teams with Ryback, Dean Ambrose and the returning Uso’s to face off against Seth Rollins, The New Day and Kevin Owens.
Man, they gave this main event some time that is for sure. The first eliminations were Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Jimmy and Jey followed, with Big E and Ryback soon after. Roman and Dean were the last on their team targeting Seth Rollins all by himself. Seth would get himself disqualified and try to attack his former partners with a chair. Roman Reigns hit a Superman Punch to save Ambrose, making Rollins retreat and end the night.
I really enjoyed this main event, but there were some issues. The positives were there, though. The Uso’s returned and immediately become the most important tag team to feud with The New Day. Does this mean The Dudley Boyz won’t be used? I hope that is not the case, but they have fallen behind The Uso’s and The Lucha Dragons in a span of two weeks. The speed and consistency of the match was really good. I think Seth getting cheap shots here and there continues to develop his natural heel ability. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose needed to be the last ones standing, giving Ambrose somewhat of a “remember me” moment. He needs to continue to lurk around until the time is perfect to strike on Roman.
The negatives: Why would you give such a great “Traditional Survivor Series Match” on Raw? Will there be a match like this better than what we saw tonight at the actual event? Unlikely. Also, Ryback involved in this means they might give him another crack at Kevin Owens’ championship. Sorry, but I am not interested. I hated how The New Day was eliminated so quickly, like the past month meant nothing when getting into the ring with current and future world champions. Overall, a really fun match but somewhat misplaced.
