WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
The tease of Roman Reigns begins early and Triple H says Dean Ambrose will be disqualified if Reigns gets involved. The mach starts with Rollins getting in early offense. Seth slides under Ambrose and ties up Dean on the ropes. Seth Rollins hits a foot stomp from the top for a two count. Seth punches him and slaps him in the face. Rollins hits a spinning elbow and gets a two count.
Dean Ambrose gets going and hits a Suicide Dive, sending both men over the announce table. Dean gets kicked in the face by Seth and gets another two count. Rollins tries a powerbomb, but Ambrose clotheslines himself and Rollins to the outside. A slight distraction gives Seth the upper hand, hitting a powerbomb into the barricade. Seth hits a flying knee to the face, followed by a suplex. Dean counters a punch with a Tornado DDT. Dean continues the assault.
Dean Ambrose hits a flying elbow drop onto Seth Rollins and then hits the same move to The Authority. Seth Rollins gets another clothesline and both men are on the outside. Seth grabs the referee and Dean hits him on accident. Seth kicks him and goes up top. Dean hits Dirty Deeds, but there is no referee. Another referee comes out and Dean Ambrose becomes WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Both referees are arguing and there seems to be some sort of confusion.
Dean Ambrose won the match, but the referee comes to his senses and says Seth Rollins was disqualified. He keeps his championship.
This was a very smart way to end the night. I loved the teasing of the crowd and Dean Ambrose got a very Chris Jericho type pop for his victory, only to be taken away. Dean steals the title, similar to what he did a few months ago. I liked the small inclusion of Roman Reigns at the end. Could he turn heel on his former friend? I do not think it is necessary, right now. Give Ambrose vs. Rollins another few weeks and this does wonders for Dean Ambrose. He goes from stuck in an Intercontinental Championship feud, where he made more out of less, to this. I can imagine that he will still not get a clean win or loss anytime soon, but that does not matter when building up a character like this.
