Rockstar Spud Becomes X-Division Champion
Impact featured a fun and entertaining Gauntlet Match featuring some of their best ring workers. After about 15-20 minutes of back and forth action between multiple opponents, Rockstar Spud would defeat Kenny King with a Small Package.
Kenny King drops the title once again, after a short stint with it. For the BDC, I feel like they need to have multiple champions in their feud at once. Dropping the title does nothing for King. In fact, it sets him back once again. He has the Shelton Benjamin routine down to a pat. He wins a mid card title, puts on great matches, and then loses it to a gimmick.
I like Spud, I really do. The guy has a factor that makes him unique and stand out over many guys in TNA. I just wonder if this was the right time. Why would you not give Rockstar Spud a bigger stage to shine? He did so well with Carter, but he never got that “wow” moment in the face of victory.
The Wolves defeated Dirty Heels
This pairing is a treat to watch. Another quick and good bout between two of the best teams in TNA. The Wolves go up 2-0 in the Best of Five series. With Jeff Hardy on the shelves for the foreseeable future, this is going to be fun to watch over the next month. Excellent finish tonight, with Aries hitting a running dropkick in the corner, followed by the 450 to Eddie with Davey making the save.
Another Last Chancery has Edwards in trouble but Richards comes in off the top with a double stomp for the save, setting up the powerbomb into a Backstabber to pin Austin Aries.
There is no doubt that Dirty Heels win the next two, right?
