3. WRESTLEMANIA XIX
There is not another PPV on this entire three-part list that features more back-to-back-to-back quality in terms of in-ring professional wrestling. If WrestleMania XIX had a fault it would be that there’s no true five-star classic, but if you added up all the Meltzer stars there can’t be many shows better than this one.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho – great match.
The Rock vs. Steve Austin III – great match.
Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle – great match.
Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon – good match.
Triple H vs. Booker T – good match.
3-Way Tag Team Championship – respectable match.
There is only ONE bad match on this entire show – The Undertaker in a handicap match with Albert and Big Show – and it was mercifully brief and even had its “moment” with Nathan Jones running down for the save.
Because it takes place post-Attitude Era this one often gets looked past as one of the all-time greats, but it’s just that.
