Wrestlezone Ranks Every Single Hell in a Cell Match in WWE History – Part 1

Notes: There are two matches not featured on this list, because WWE does not consider them legitimate Hell in a Cell matches. The first was a WWE Championship match between Steve Austin and Kane, where the cell was lowered over the ring prior to the end of their “First Blood” match. The second is the infamous “Kennel from Hell” match, which saw Al Snow and Big Boss Man trying to escape from both a steel cage AND a Hell in a Cell structure, while “guard dogs” sat and relieved themselves at ringside. And to think, the paying customers in the front row forked over hundreds of dollars, and still had to walk all the way to the bathroom…

RAW Supershow

file_278887_0_WWE-LiveNot many are familiar with this hidden Hell in a Cell match, because it actually took place in the dark segment after Monday Night RAW on September 26, 2011. Because the annual Hell in a Cell PPV was the following weekend, WWE had the structure with them and used it for the closing segment on television. After the cameras stopped rolling, Teddy Long came out and booked a 5-man match for the WWE Championship, and since the cage was already around the ring, they made it an official Hell in a Cell match.

It was all of about five minutes long, and was pretty much your standard dark match affair. There were a few minutes with the heels beating down on the babyfaces, followed by the circle of finishing moves that ended with John Cena hitting the AA on Jack Swagger to retain the title. There are a few cell phone quality videos on YouTube if you’re really interested in checking it out.
