Exclusive: Why Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins Should Be Thankful for “Hell”, Who Put HIAC on the Map?, ‘Taker & Foley News

hell in a cellIt was a year later that Mick Foley was booked to follow up on the performance of Taker and Shawn, when he was booked against the “Dead Man” at King of the Ring. As they say, the rest is history. That night, Mick left EVERYTHING out there with the risk of physically crippling himself in the process.

No matter how great Mick Foley was – and he was – there was no way that he could have calculated what he did during that match while securing his own safety – no way. Mick took the risks he did that night because I believe that he wanted to OWN this match. It was only minutes after the battle, when Mick looked up at me from the gurney he was laying on, and asked, “Vince, was it better them Shawn’s?”, as his lower teeth protruded through his upper lip. At that moment in time, that’s all he cared about.

So, in looking back, when it comes to the rich history of the Hell in the Cell match, I think it’s safe to say that the “Heartbreak Kid” put it on the map, and Mick Foley Crazy Glued it there permanently. However, let’s not forget who the constant was…The Undertaker. Without him in BOTH of those matches, they never would have been the memorable events that fans still talk about today.

In my opinion, he deserves just as much credit as Shawn and Mick for giving the WWE something extremely special that still lives on today!

Next Sunday, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have the opportunity to continue the legacy that is Hell in a Cell. And that’s what it is…an opportunity, given to them by three of the greatest to ever play “the game”. Let’s see if they can live up to the expectations.

Personally, I think they can.
