#8 – Believe in the Shield

Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta.

Babyface.

The Shield made a literal turn earlier this year, swinging a 180 on Corporate Kane and actually saving Jerry "The King" Lawler to a great reaction. It was a smart move, given that fans have loved Shield since their debut, and it's almost hard to believe they were heels for the last two years.

The first time I thought it was absolutely a good idea to turn the Hounds of Justice was the Royal Rumble PPV earlier this year. A lot of blame rests on Batista's return (aka WWE decision-makers), but Roman Reigns not only broke the Rumble record for number of eliminations in a single match, but he came face-to-face with big Dave and had an entire arena of fans hoping and praying that he'd win. Reigns has "that look" – the fans would have turned him one way or another eventually.

The immediate result of the Shield on the good side of the fence was a fantastic match with the Wyatt Family at Elimination Chamber, a quick win at WrestleMania 30, and two absolutely phenomenal contests with a newly reformed Evolution. Hard to complain. But most importantly, this set the stage for Seth Rollins turning on his teammates.
