Q1 Ratings: Not Good

wwe royal rumbleAs I reported myself last week, preliminary numbers for the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber PPV events aren't good. Or rather, they more or less fall in line with numbers from two years ago. So basically, The Rock popped last year's numbers being the WWE Champion, as frustrating a reality as that is to face. What did they expect? Batista isn't a huge ratings draw. He's not a global Superstar like Dwayne. I'm excited for the movie, but nobody knows a thing about Guardians of the Galaxy. Did they really expect people to line up just for a Royal Rumble win they didn't want to see? The Chamber was so ridiculously predictable, I don't blame anybody who chose not to order it. There wasn't one big draw on either of those cards combined. It's a really good thing the WWE Network will mask this year's WrestleMania numbers.

More Jeff Jarrett Info

We confirmed this week that Double J is indeed working on a new wrestling promotion. Current networks apparently interested are CMT, TBS and Spike TV. TBS wants back in the wrestling game, Jarrett has connections with the CMT network, and Spike is the long shot. They would only really be interested if TNA doesn't get a new deal, and let's be honest, the only way that doesn't happen is if they pitch a really good offer to WWE.
