WrestleZone’s Pay-Per View Predictions: WWE Elimination Chamber

Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Killiam on what should happen: This might be an unpopular opinion, but Randy Orton should retain. There’s rumor going around that Daniel Bryan could win and defend the title at WrestleMania, but honestly, people really need to get over this self-entitled delusion that they know what’s best for the product. Think about it – if Bryan wins on Sunday, he’s defending the title at WrestleMania. Orton won’t beat him. If Batista beats him, commence freaking out like it’s the end of the world. So in this “ideal” situation, the big moment at the end of WrestleMania is…the champion retains, the Royal Rumble winner loses, and nothing really happens. Despite all the Daniel Bryan fans, from a storyline perspective it’s pretty anticlimactic. I would much rather see Daniel Bryan get his just desserts against the Authority, being Triple H in this case. There’s a scenario that could actually feel like a “WrestleMania Moment”.

Killam on what will happen: I believe Orton will win, Bryan will move on to Triple H at WrestleMania, and in the end things won’t be so utterly dismal as most fans assume they will be. Bryan winning the title at this point – and this is just one guy’s opinion – stands to be a mistake.

Isenberg on what should happen: If WWE really wants to make things right with the world, they would let Randy Orton retain the championship by last defeating Daniel Bryan in controversial fashion. The match should go down like this: Christian is out first, followed by Sheamus and Cesaro. It gets down to Orton being beaten down by Cena and Bryan until Bryan and Cena go back and forth. The lights go out, and Bray Wyatt distracts John Cena. Cena gets taken out and that sets up their feud for WrestleMania. Somehow, Bryan gets screwed over and Orton retains. If WWE really wants Bryan in the main event at WrestleMania ( as they should) Vince McMahon comes out and says that Bryan is in the title match. This gives heat between Vince and H, Batista and H, Batista and Orton and makes Bryan an even bigger face.

Isenberg on what will happen: It is likely that Bryan will get screwed over by Kane, which allows himself to set up a feud with Triple H. Orton vs. Batista will likely be for the world title and will begin the next night on Raw. It could be incredible to see Brock Lesnar somehow get involved, but I cannot see any other guy facing Taker at Mania. After chamber, Orton stands tall and Bryan is the victim once again. Fans will hate it, but a match with Triple H at WrestleMania is such a big deal.
