RVDThe Undercard Part 2

Rob Van Dam won an opportunity to face United States Champion Dean Ambrose on the "SummerSlam Kickoff Show." Van Dam won a battle royal by eliminating Mark Henry last. RVD, in my mind, needed to be added to the World Heavyweight Championship picture to give it more exposure and importance. Instead, this excellent match is simply used for fans to tune into the pre-show before SummerSlam. RVD had so much steam after Money in the Bank where it only made sense for him to fight for the title. I was just shocked to see WWE put him against Ambrose. It will be an excellent match, but extremely unimportant. I wish they threw this on the actual card so there is at least some believability that RVD could win.

Kane vs. Bray Wyatt stayed the course on WWE Raw. The Wyatt Family came out after Kane picked up a squash victory and tried to attack him. Instead, Kane escaped after the lights went out and was on the stage. He and Bray stared at one another and Kane lit the fire like usual. Bray went on his knees and began to laugh. This was perfect for a veteran vs. rookie. You do not need any more physical contact with one another because you need to save that for SummerSlam, especially since this will be the first time we see Bray Wyatt in a big stage. Who better should he fight besides one of the most consistent performers in Kane? This segment was just what they needed tonight and didn't do too much.

Grade: B

Natalya vs. Brie Bella was added to the SummerSlam card. Man, WWE really is doing all that they can to push this show. The ratings have been there, so is this match really needed to enhance their story on E? It will be a five minute filler that will let everyone go to the bathroom. I would love to see Natalya as Divas Champion down the road. She should benefit the most from the show, along with Eva Marie.
