Daniel Bryan Fascinates Mick Foley
Mick Foley on Daniel Bryan: “Daniel Bryan is the most fascinating wrestler/character combo I’ve seen in a long time.”
I respect the hell out of Mick Foley, and his opinion, so it excited me to see him putting over Daniel Bryan in such fashion. That wasn’t a softball compliment either.
If you don’t recall my history with Daniel Bryan, let me quickly fill you in:
I didn’t like him at first. Like, at all. I thought he was overrated and bland. I remember going round and round with Justin LaBar, who wouldn’t shut up about the guy from the word “go”. At the time, I would argue to Justin that there was much more to being a wrestling superstar than just good “wrestling”.
It was a fair argument at the time and I can’t say that I was “wrong” necessarily, but I have to tip my hat to Justin who apparently saw greatness in Bryan before yours truly did.
That doesn’t happen often as you all know
I’m fully on the Daniel Bryan bandwagon now. It still has nothing to do with his wrestling ability, but everything to do with his ability to entertain.
The stars aligned in his favor, and maybe a little luck was involved, but he actually got over. To a level very few stars ever do in their career.
That is very much “fascinating”.
