3. WWE Capitol Punishment
Yeah, remember this one hit wonder? Capitol Punishment took place on June 19, 2011 in Washington, D.C. Although the Pay Per View buys were up from the previous year's PPV in June, Capitol Punishment is a lame attempt at WWE trying to make connections with the District of Columbia, the United States, and politics. Isn't WWE Pay Per Views worldwide? So, why would WWE try to specifiy a Pay Per View in June for USA fans? There is problem number one. It is not all about the domestic buys anymore. The name was ridiculous, but the event was pretty average. Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston kicked the night off in fast fashion, along with Alex Riley getting his only big win in the WWE. We also were treated to Orton vs. Christian, again, and CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio. The main event stunk the joint up, with R-Truth losing to John Cena. It wasn't "capitol" punishment, it was "universal" punishment. Terrible name, folks.
