The Main Event
Jeff Hardy defeated Christopher Daniels in a championship match to conclude Impact Wrestling. Man, Daniels may be one of the most underrated and under-utilized guys in the world. His ability to make his opponent look good, as well as being believable and telling a story in the ring was excellent here. We all knew that Jeff Hardy would not drop the title, but Daniels was able to put on a great contest inside the ring. I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniels in full control of Hardy for a while, with continued shots to his chest and submission holds to slow down the champion. Daniels hit Angel's Wings for a 2 count. We were treated to a few more close pinfall attempts, but to no avail. The action continued back and forth until Hardy was able to hit two Twist of Fates and a Swanton Bomb. That was the end of an excellent match. Grade: A-
After the match, Taz comes out and mocks Jeff Hardy. He asks him what will happen when the Aces and Eights completely destroy everything? A masked man hits Hardy in the knee and beats him down before leaving with Taz. Well, it looks like Taz is a mouthpiece and nothing more. I thought Devon was the voice, or even DOC at times? I still am flabbergasted by why Taz needed to be involved with Aces and Eights. THERE IS NO PAYOFF with Taz. Plain and simple. Grade: C
