The Main Event
Jeff Hardy defeated Austin Aries to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. I knew that this match would end in some sort of controversy. With a guy like Bobby Roode with nothing to do besides chase for the world title, he had to be involved somehow. During the match, Hardy started off with a flurry of moves, including a standing dropkick and a few kicks to the abdominal area of Aries. Aries would gain control in the return from a commercial break. This is where the action picked up, with Aries connecting with an incredible running dropkick into the corner and getting a two count. He would pick up Hardy and continue the assault. The referee would get the classic knock out, and Aries hit a Brainbuster. He would go for the pin, but Roode pulls down the backup referee from making the count. Roode counts to two until Aries realizes it is him, and Roode hits a spinebuster on Aries. Hardy hits a Swanton Bomb for the victory. This was an excellent match with so much action, great timing and execution, and showcased two of TNA's best perfomers. I love the fact that Roode took out the heel and got revenge. TNA Genesis needs to be a three way with Aries, Roode, and Hardy. They are the three biggest and most important names in the company, and this night helped the challengers. It also showed that Hardy will win at any cost, much like a real champion should. Grade: A-
Impact Wrestling Grade: B
