Number 4: Bruno Sammartino
From 1963 to 1971, Bruno Sammartino was the champion. That is no typo, and is absolutely shocking. Now, he did not defend the championship every week, or every month, but this is still unbelievable to think about. Bruno was the man that started out Professional Wrestling, gained interest with the general audience, and made it seem real. At this time, nobody thought that this sport would stay and thrive, but Sammartino was the guy. With his amazing physique, his intense grappling inside the ring, he would sell out Madison Square Garden every single night. Sammartino was Hulk Hogan, but on a different scale. It is so hard to compare different eras, but Bruno being champion for such a long time and staying popular is a feat that nobody else could accomplish. He would win it once more, defeating Superstar Billy Graham in 1973, and not lose it again until 1977. Wow.
