Number 3: Chris Jericho
Nobody can argue that Chris Jericho shouldn’t be in the top 5 of this list. He holds the record for 9 Intercontinental Championship reigns, three more than second place. Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely think Jericho is one of the best all time in ring performers, and his best matches happened here. Why is he not number 1? Well, those reigns are impressive, but the number of days that he held the title is not. He held the title for 318 days, which is about a month per reign. Three of his stints lasted a combined three weeks. We do have to remember that, at this time, the WWE changed titles more often than they changed theme songs. With his determination, he intelligence, and his ability to change with the times, Chris Jericho has been one of the best Intercontinental Champions of all time. I will remember him as this more than his world title runs.
