Bret Hart, John Cena, and CM Punk
What I Liked:
The ending of the night was perfect. Hart tried to get Cena over, but Punk would try and stop that. Punk compared himself to Shawn Michaels and Cena to Hart, both are overrated. I loved the comparisons that Punk was able to draw, and shows that his intelligence is second to none. He is so good at being real, believable, and you have to respect that. Cena fires back in a big way, and talks about Punk being all about himself. Cena wonders where the change is, because it is all the same. Punk says he is better than Rock, Austin, Hart, Michaels, and Cena. Cena ends up talking in French, and the crowd loves him for it. This gets Cena over big time, and really makes Punk look like the full fledged heel he has been trying to be for months. The exchange of words was real, hit home with everyone, and made the match feel like a HUGE match. I also loved how Cena talked about the WWE Championship not being the main event month after month. Well done. This was excellent talking from everyone involved, and shows you that Cena is still the most important wrestler in the WWE. Punk is close, but not on the overall profit of Cena.
Grade: A
*My prayers and thoughts all night were with Jerry Lawler, who suffered a heart attack on the show. I give so much credit to Michael Cole for being able to go on, showing his feelings, and really taking the show in a complete respectable and professional manner. This is an extremely difficult situation for anyone, and the show must go on. Lawler is a guy who I have spoken with before a handful of times, and he is a special guy who has been kind and generous to myself and others on this site. He was an interview on CSR over a year ago, and his professionalism and kindness are second to none. A hard night to watch at the end, but Raw itself was well executed. I wish Jerry the best in his recovery, and his fight to beat this.
Raw Grade: B+
