Mt. Killamanjaro: WWE SummerSlam 2012 Preview & Predictions

WWE Tag Team Championship
Kofi Kingston & R-Truth (c) vs. Prime Time Players

Kofi KingstonThis was a no-brainer until A.W. got himself fired. I never full appreciated the appeal of the Prime Time Players, but now without their mouth piece I value them even less. I've heard fans put them over as the next step towards a tag team division re-birth; are you kidding me? We're talking about not one, but two multiple time NXT rejects.

I'm begging somebody to see reason here. It's getting to the point where if WWE puts two people near each other, the fans think they're the greatest tag team since Londrick. Tag Team fans have essentially gone without sex for years; they'll take what they can get, and it's destroying their perspective. PTP aren't that good, and with the much, much more entertaining team of Curt Hawkins and Tyler Rekks scoring a win on Smackdown this week, I wouldn't take those millions of billions of dollars to the bank just yet.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston & R-Truth retain

Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

What is going on with these two? The overly ambiguous Kane and Daniel Bryan have some great chemistry, but I still have no idea why they're fighting each other. It's not AJ anymore – although that angle never really did get a clean resolve either!

I suppose it could be worse. Another last minute, thrown-together Randy Orton feud for the sake of squeezing him into the card sounds terrible. At least this way we have some history to draw on, and Daniel Bryan is relevant to the here-and-now. I'd be surprised if Bryan didn't find a way to pull off the upset victory here. I hate to rely too heavily on the old "Kane doesn't need a win" booking logic, but it's still as true as ever. As with Miz vs. Mysterio, the younger up-and-comer has more to offer the future of the product. If this is to be their final encounter, Bryan should go over Kane somehow.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins
