Mt. Killamanjaro: Slammiversary Preview – Ten Years of TNA

D-Von & Garrett Bischoff vs. Robbie & Robbie T

And here’s why this match doesn’t matter:

1. For as little as the fans care about Big and Little Robbie, they care about D-Von and Garrett Bischoff much less.
2. Very few people like Robbie E, but do you think they’ll buy into him more without a bodyguard? Even if TNA breaks them up tonight to “add interest” to this match, there is no long-term gain from that move.
3. D-Von already beat both these men in a handicap match. If he somehow loses this match, it’ll just appear that Garrett is more of a hindrance than an asset. But to quote another mediocre wrestler, you already knew that…

Prediction: D-Von & Garrett Bischoff

ChristianQUICK THOUGHTS ON CHRISTIAN CAGE: For those of you not yet up to speed, it was revealed that in exchange for Ric Flair’s participation in the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in April, TNA has been allowed to utilize the talents of Christian, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion and former TNA World Champion. What that actually means is still unknown, but TNA has been advertising him on their website and Twitter account, so it’s presumably legit.

For the sake of making predictions, I see three possible outcomes for Christian at Slammiversary tonight. He could easily show up, cut a promo backstage, and leave. But if that were the case they never would have flown him to Dallas, the location for tonight’s show. Then there’s the more obvious outcome, and that is that Christian will be announced as the first inductee into TNA’s upcoming Hall of Fame. The laws of equivalent exchange hold tight: Flair for Christian. Neither company gets more or less out of the deal (you know, unless you take into account that Flair is 100x the draw that Christian is…). And then there’s a third, less likely option…

Crimson’s Open Challenge

It’s a long shot, because so far as I know a WWE Superstar has never wrestled in a TNA ring while still under contract, but stranger things have happened in the world of professional wrestling. Perhaps Christian’s presence on the PPV alone is not enough to compensate for what WWE gained in Flair? I’m hoping that’s the case, because the IC Champ wrestling an undefeated Crimson on TNA PPV is intriguing enough to get a lot of people talking! Either way though, Crimson wins. There’s no way TNA is stupid enough to pass up the opportunity to give one of their own a free rub from a former WWE World Champion. Hold on… I take that back.

Prediction: Crimson wins.
