– Hogan announces but is interrupted by Mr. Anderson. He insisted to be in the title match, an RVD comes out. Lastly, Jeff Hardy comes out to the ring. Hogan gets upset and says all three will face each other at Slammiversary, and the winner will face the champion on the Live Impact next week.
Sting, Kurt Angle, and AJ Styles def. Bobby Roode, Kazarian, and Daniels
What I Liked:
This was a solid bout from beginning to end. The two biggest storylines going for TNA have to evolve in the final match before the PPV on Sunday. I really enjoyed the idea of having Styles not show up until later. Where was he? Was he with Dixie? There are many ways to go about this, and I think it was a very smart idea to keep him out of the first seven minutes of the match. Sting looks really good, refreshed, and ready for another run. He never gets old of watching, is reliable to get the crowd invested, and can make anyone look important. Sting made Roode tap out. Do I think that was a good idea? Absolutely. This is the first time in a while where Roode is made to look like the underdog, a guy who is barely hanging on. His feud with RVD was short, his feud with Storm was personal, but he always looked stronger. You can see his vulnerability in his eyes. Great acting and work in the ring with these six guys, who made me more interested in Slammiversary. They did they jobs.
What I Disliked:
The look from Sting onto Roode was good to end it, but wouldn't it be more significant if Sting stood above his unconscience body holding the title? That is something that looks more meaningful and more impactful than just a stare. Roode was attacked by Sting, and the end basically shows him catching his breath. He should look like he is in dire pain, not already recovered from the fight.
