Number 7: Larry Zybszko
The “Living Legend” was a protege of Bruno Sammartino coming into the WWWF. He was completely talented from beginning to end. He had all of the tools to succeed, but there was a problem. He was continuously taking a backseat to Sammartino, who would not let Zybszko take the spotlight. Finally fed up with everything that was going on, Larry would challenge Bruno to a match, where he said he needed to get out of his shadows. He certainly did, as Zybszko attacked Sammartino and really turned heel hard. He may not have been as successful in his career, but Larry was a guy who had all of the essentials to be great. He would attack Sammartino, as well as the referee, and even hit him with a wooden chair. This was so different in a time where television and character development were not really utilized. It worked and was an absolute shock to everyone who was in attendance. Underrated, but still a great part of the history of professional wrestling.
