Number 3: WrestleMania 2
Holding the event in three separate venues was a complete mistake. Uniondale, New York held matches that included Paul Orndorff and Don Muraco, Randy Savage and George Steele, Jake Roberts defeating George Wells, and the main event of Mr. T and Roddy Piper in a Boxing Match. We then shifted to Rosemont, Illinois with the illustrious card of Moolah vs. Velvet McIntyre (no relation to Drew), Corporal Kirchner defeating Nikolai Volkoff, Andre the Giant winning a 20 man Battle Royal, and the main event of British Bulldogs defeating The Dream Team. Ouch. And finally, Los Angeles held matches including Ricky Steamboat and Hercules Hernandez, Adrian Adonis defeating Uncle Elmer, The Funks battling Junkyard Dog and Tito Santana, and Hulk Hogan defeating King Kong Bundy in a classic steel cage match. Yeah, do I really need to go any further than “reading” that card? The longest match was 13 minutes. The shortest was 90 seconds. What did we get out of this night? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Oh, we did get NFL players in a battle royal, but that is it. No memorable match, no memorable move, absolutely nothing worth our while. 2 out of 10. This could easily be the worst.
