Number 1: WrestleMania IX
Poor booking, poor broadcasting, and awful costumes made this night seem like a broadway show and not WrestleMania. Togas, outside venue with cheesy displays, and no real usage of music and graphics to set their spectacle away from other events is what Vince and company did. It was almost as bad as the main event(s), where Yokozuna would defeat Bret Hart only to lose the WWE Championship 21 seconds later thanks to Hulk Hogan. His ego got in the way here, as Hogan cheaply used his popularity and political stroke to walk out of Vegas with the gold. Taker and Giant Gonzalez was almost as bad as G.G’s gear. Ramon vs. Backlund lasted under 4 minutes, and Doink beating Crush made no sense and was brutal. The production value was disgraceful for an event that was built up to be something special. This was the entire failure of WrestleMania in every facet, from look to book and matches to outcomes. 1 out of 10 for this event in which I never want to watch again.
