#2. An Outside Shot For Rumble Winner
If it's not Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus or Wade Barrett that wins the 2012 Royal Rumble tomorrow, I would be fine with giving it to the Miz. I'm bothered by the increasing level of obscurity and irrelevance he experiences each week. I know this opens up the debate of whether he's good enough or not, but I'm a firm believer that he is.
Vince clearly likes Miz. He's one of the most visible superstars on the roster as he's a new "go to" guy for Vince to use on talk shows and other promotional appearances. But when you look back to WrestleMania last year — where Miz was main eventing AND winning — and compare that to where Miz is now, it's an overwhelming difference.
Miz and Truth together ended up being detrimental to the Miz. Miz and Truth separate, yet working together, is still detrimental. I like Truth and his immediate return to babyface worked…for him. Miz is gaining nothing right now by being subjected to the comedic style of Truth's new fun-loving character. What happened to the aggression we saw restored in Miz when he took out Morrison and Truth in a matter of weeks?
It wouldn't surprise me if Vince decides the Rumble is the place to begin reviving Miz's career. It honestly wouldn't bother me either.
